As we embrace the fresh start of 2025, many of us are seeking ways to deepen our spiritual journey while balancing the demands of ministry and motherhood. In our latest episode of Moms in Ministry podcast, co-hosts Jolea and Estella dive into four transformative principles that can help you cultivate a more meaningful relationship with God this year.
Consistency is key when it comes to spiritual growth. Rather than setting unrealistic expectations, focus on creating a sustainable routine that works with your schedule. Whether it’s early morning devotions or quiet time during nap hours, the important thing is establishing a regular appointment with God.
Don’t overcomplicate your spiritual practices. Sometimes, the most profound moments with God come through simple, intentional actions. Start with basic habits and build from there, allowing your relationship with God to develop naturally and authentically.
One of the most powerful insights shared in this episode is the importance of anticipating imperfection in your spiritual journey. Instead of letting shame or guilt derail your progress when you miss a day of Bible study or prayer, have a plan for getting back on track. Remember, God’s grace is sufficient, and He can still use you while He’s working on you.
In our fast-paced world, we often rush through our quiet time, treating it like another task to check off our list. However, true spiritual growth happens when we learn to pause and create space to hear God’s voice. As shared in the episode, try starting your quiet time by asking, “God, what do you want to speak to me today?”
• Don’t compare your spiritual journey to others – everyone starts somewhere
• Be patient with yourself as you develop new spiritual habits
• God can use you while He’s working on you
• Aim to hear from God at least every three days
• When you miss a day, just get back on track without dwelling in guilt
Whether you’re just beginning your spiritual journey or looking to deepen your existing practice, these principles can help you develop a more meaningful relationship with God while managing the beautiful chaos of ministry and motherhood.
